This Is Why Ads Follow You Around

Imagine that you are setting up the best ad ever to run for your business.
Congratulations! It’s all because you learned this targeted ads strategy to get more reach and higher chances of converting people into paying customers.
You decide that instead of saying roughly, “I’m selling this! We’ve been in business for 15 years! We’re the best in the industry! Buy Now!”
You take a path less traveled.
In this example let's say you sell chiropractic services.
You run an advertisement that says “3 things everyone should know before visiting the chiropractor in (town name)” with a video below it providing useful information.
You might be thinking “Why would I do that? How would I get sales from that?”
I'm getting there,
The goal of the ad is to get someone who is interested in going to the chiropractor to watch the video.
We basically just rig the hook up with some bait and give it a nice cast into the middle of the lake.

And when the fish bites(clicks on the video) we don’t even have to reel it in ourselves!
The Facebook pixel(you can also do it in google) reels them in very close to shore and puts a net around all the ones that already bit.
To make this more clear, imagine that the lake has 1,000 fish in it. And out of those 1,000 fish only 50 were interested in the bait we were using(the video).
And they're all trapped in a net right off the shore so we can easily keep fishing for just them.
This is great because:
We know that they are probably interested.
We don’t have to waste time trying to catch the other 950 that don’t care about our bait.
We can retarget these 50 again and again and again.
So back to the ad -
Now is when we show these 50 people who are likely to be interested in chiropractic services a real life, actual offer.
This will get us a much better chance of converting people into paying customers. And it will be much cheaper.
For example, we can show this ad with the offer to the 50 interested people 20 times, which would cost the same as showing it to 1000 random people only once.
Just like my Grandpa told me; work smarter not stupider.
